Solar energy storage system: inverter and battery

As the application of renewable energy becomes more and more widely, so is the demands of people for solar energy storage system getting older and stronger, especially for innovative, cost-effective inverter technologies. Energy storage inverters + battery = efficient energy storage

 

An energy storage inverter turns the DC power output of a battery or solar panels into AC power to homes and businesses use or to feed directly into the electrical grid. Energy storage inverters also serve as the brains of a solar energy storage system, regulating and optimizing system performance and financial returns. When there is surplus solar energy, it can either be fed into the public grid, which is often being remunerated, or temporarily stored with the help of our energy storage inverter, for example, to charge electric cars.

There are 3 types of solar energy storage systems with 3 kinds of inverters.

1. On-grid energy storage system with AC coupled inverter

For those having a currently installed solar power system of the standard nature, it might be best to consider an AC coupled energy storage solution.  3. Hybrid energy storage system with hybrid inverter

The most simple and economical solar energy storage system uses a hybrid inverter, which combines a solar inverter, charger controller, and battery inverter together with software, determining the most efficient use of your available energy through programming.

1. Power connection

Step 1: Assemble the terminal

Step 2: Install the battery power connector

Fasten the connection terminal to corresponding BAT terminal blocks( BAT+ and BAT-) 

2. Communication connection

If the battery type is lithium-ion or ternary battery which needs communication between the inverter and battery management system(BMS), the communication connection must be installed.

Battery communication interface: RS485/CAN connection

Connect Battery RS485 or CAN steps:

1) Unscrew and remove the waterproof cover of communication interfaces and loosen the cable and on it.

2) Lead the RS485/CAN cable through the cable gland and plug the RS485/CAN terminal into the corresponding Battery RS485/CAN ports interfaces firmly.

3) If you finish all the other communication connections, then fasten the cable gland and install the waterproof communication interfaces back to the inverter firmly. Or you can continue other communication connection works directly after step 2.
